Muzzleloader Range -Trail Walk Rules
Smoothbore Rules:
-
Single barreled primitive styled smoothbore (no rear sight)
flintlock or caplock ONLY.
-
Muzzleloaders firing round ball only.
-
Pre-measured powder is fine to use. You could even use the ball in
the paper as well.
-
No speed loaders. Ball blocks and paper cartridges are acceptable.
Historically-correct paper cartridges are not considered speed
loaders. These are fine.

No loading directly from horn or flask. Measurer must be used.
-
All participants will walk a marked trail, unloaded and unprimed
for safety with slings used only for carrying your weapon.
-
All shooting will be from a standing position, unaided by shooting
sticks (unless noted at target area), slings or other external aids.
No speed loaders will be allowed, all loading will be from the bag.

The testing of priming powder and / or snapping of caps will be
done on target #1 only. Weapon MUST be pointed at target area.

NO SMOKING ON THE FIRING LINE - NO SMOKING WITHIN 15 FEET OF
SHOOTERS ON THE LINE.
Rifled Flintlock or Caplock Rules:

Cowboy Action - .22 Rimfire Rules:Cowboy Action Rifles (straight wall
pistol calibers), Revolvers and .22 Rimfire (standard velocity) are acceptable for these
targets. Special consideration may be given
for other firearms loaded with lead bullets and using reduced loads that meet
the velocity requirements. You will need to gain permission for
them prior to using this range.
- The maximum velocity standard for revolvers is 1000 fps. The maximum velocity standard for rifles is 1400
fps.
- Cowboy Action and 22 Rimfire are not
eligible for competition during the Muzzleloader Trail Walk.
- Special Cowboy Action Shooting Competitions are permitted on this range.

SHOOTERS ON THE LINE.
